Youvi is a player with the interface and logic of a video hosting platform. More specifically, it's a local Niconico mixed with Youtube with booru-style tagging for managing and downloading videos on your computer. Despite looking like a social service, Youvi is an offline application. Comments were added for notes, importing from other sites, and most importantly because I wanted to create my own ideal video hosting platform for myself.

Booru-style logic but with some changes - 12 types, aliases, implications, and mass tagging. Tag everything you have.

Archiving

Save videos from YouTube, NicoNico, and Bilibili along with their comments, descriptions, and danmaku! The audience's reaction is preserved together with the video!

Important! Youvi is based on the File System Access API, therefore the browser choice is limited to the Chromium engine. Alternative names for Youvi are Yuvisite and the brand new, never-before-used name YuviYuvi. Software uses Youvi brand.

Youvi's date of birth is August 8, 2025 - on that same day it received the name 8Site. Since then, Youvi has changed and grown enormously; it used to be a simple web application that mimicked Western video hosting sites of the 2000s, but it evolved, received its current name, and became what it is today. I use it every day, that's how much I love it. It was created as a personal tool and never aimed to be a commercial product - which it isn't. I decided to share it on the web. Youvi is a fully open-source project; it changed licenses several times but ultimately settled on the GPL.
